One of the expeditions I led with the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse Outdoor Connection. This 10 day canoe and hiking trip was the first of two main trips I helped lead during winter-break 2017. The journey began driving two loaded Toyota vans all the way from Wisconsin to the bottom of Texas where our paddle down the Rio Grande River began.
Our kick-ass group shared many laughs and plenty of quality time together which further developed a wonderful friendship I share with Rachel my co-leader on the trip. These endeavorers are always a team effort and I'm incredibly grateful for all the trip-leaders I've ever shared the responsibilities of an expedition with. Rach and I worked many hours together planning and preparing to make this thing happen and it paid off with an unforgettable adventure. This included: sleeping under insane stars between the Santa Elena Canyon, soaking in natural hot springs, climbing the tallest peak in Texas, sock gloves, pooping in 'Bae' (our portable toilet), running rapids, getting stuck, and of course river chillin' in the sun everyday to name a few.
